Onyx Cafe

This Cafe is run by the nicest guy in Melbourne! I had an amazing experience stopping here for a quick lunch during the week. The whole staff team was amazing, the service was truly above and beyond and it just made the whole experience so pleasant. The food was delicious and there were lots of things on the menu that I wanted to try. I don't leave many reviews but this place was just so good and seems like such a hidden gem!

excellent experience at Onyx it was our first time there and the service was excellent. The owner is really hands on and such a nice person really caring and friendly. Ordered the risotto and pasta dishes and they were excellent. Will visit again and encourage anyone who genuinely appreciates good service and food to visit this place

Called in to get coffee (decaf soy latte) and Norm, owner, also gave me a free bottle of water! Nice place, quite big, with seating outside. Lots of nice things on menu, including some delicious sounding vegetarian options and husband's favourite, big breakfast.

Walked into Onyx for our Monday & saw the beautiful floral arrangement on the main counter - Suz does an amazing job with all the floral work she does. The omelette is great as well.

Oynx is one of the best places I’ve visited in recent times. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the owner, who is genuinely kind and friendly. The ambiance is clean, well-maintained, and creates a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff are equally friendly and helpful, making the overall experience even better. I tried the fried rice with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious—cooked perfectly to suit my preferences. The chef did a fantastic job, and the dish was definitely worth the price. I highly recommend Oynx to anyone looking for a great spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. They offer a well-curated menu with something for everyone. Thank you to the team for the wonderful experience!

Had the best experience here. The food was exceptional but the thing that stood out most was the service from the guy who I’m guessing is the owner. He was so welcoming and generous it was a stand out visit on my parents trip to Melbourne. Highly recommend!!!

Absolutely loved this place! It was my first time visiting today and I was so impressed. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. You can tell they really care about their customers and the quality of what they serve. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone! 10/10

I had a special moment of kindness at this place today. Having had a bit of a bad day and needing change, I dropped in to buy a chai to break my fifty. The guy who served me was personable, funny and clearly cared about his beverages- asking if I was ok with him letting the chai steep for a while for best effect (hell yes!). He gave me a bigger serve and a free bottled water to send me on my way. I know it doesn't seem like a big thing but with that 5 minutes of kindness and warm human interaction I felt better about the day. Thank you for the unexpected moment of sunshine. The chai wasn't bad either!
